Glue3D is a 3D engine made in Scratch, developed by GL00B. The engine has many features, such as textured rendering, model editing, bone keyframe animations, scripting, file management, as well as exporting a final build of your game.

The project combines three types of 3D rendering techniques and systems to make its own 3D engine:

* 2D tile raycasting
** A 3D method to get perfectly aligned 2D tiles that look 3D and rotate around the Y-axis. Works best for maze games, and older game ports. Super fast and easy to texture, however, no moving object on the X and Z-axis
* 2D line segment raycasting
** An algorithm for rendering 2D polygons that look 3D, enabling you to render 2D and even 3D looking slopes. Really easy to texture, memory efficient, can have moving polygons on all axis
* Mode 7
** A technique for rendering floors and ceilings, sloped roads and terrain. It is very well known for being super fast and easily textured. It can be flawlessly used with any type of raycasting, without a significant performance drop
Development
Glue3D was first shown off on August 22, 2025 on the YouTube video posted on GL00Bs YouTube channel named "Glue3d - a whole 3d game engine inside scratch ( sneak peak )" previewing off everything, the 3D rendering, Built in 3D modeler, and script editor to name a few.
Release
Released January 30, 2026 Glue3D was met with praise although backlash due to a last minute decision to obfuscate the code this would lead to people trying to deobfuscate the code to allow modding. Later on due to presure from those deobfuscating the project it was then released open-sourced under the 1.0.1 release.

Context
Droplets Utilities was one of, if not, the first Glue3D mods released, created by Droplets21, it originally made for quality of life use with Glue3D, specifically for easier use in compiled versions of Glue3D, but slowly expanded into a larger general purpose mod.

Development
# V1.0 was the first version of Droplet Utils, with changes to config gui and some planned asset features for easier use in compiled versions of Glue3D. This was just the release of Dr Utils but it still didn't offer much.
# V1.2 was the next published version of Dr Utils, this version having many more changes, like an empty "utils" tab in the configuration, supposed clipboard support, an assign variable block objects category, export features using a .g3d file format, and Visual Studio Code support using a G3DScript plugin made by Savvy. This update featured a lot more stuff but yet there were still many issues, and no patch notes.
# V2.1 was the third published version of Dr Utils, adding many promising features like a proper config tab with clipboard settings, and patch notes! Here are changes made to the version according to the patch notes:
#* Added and fixed some importing and exporting related features
#* added and increased support for .glue3d files
#* added clipboard features, like script update. fixed any found related bugs
#* added config page and settings, like toggling clipboard access
#* added fail-safes, fixed some bugs, and added the patch notes
#* removed the help menu
#*
#* these features we're pretty good and had changed what type of mod Dr Utils was, mostly, it was still "unstable and very bad" -Droplets21, 2026.
# V2.2 was the next published version of Dr Utils, this update added many things so lets read the patch notes:
#* added function-functionality (added functions)
#* added more controls to the script editor
#* fixed some edit menu options
#* removed the ability to name two files the same
#* added droplet theme
#* added more config settings, like toolbar size
#* fixed assign variable block
#* upgraded the file import menu and fixed some issues (unspecified)
#* added function documentation
#* removed the help menu
#*
#* this update added a lot of interesting and very good features, by this point Dr Utils was somewhat well-known and somewhat considered an alternative for base Glue3D.
# V3 (unstable) was the last published version of Dr Utils, this updated added a lot, more than any other update, unfortunately this version was a beta so there are no patch notes, so here is every noticeable change:
#* added "installable" "plugins" which we're really just hidden block categories, some of these we're actually made by fellow modders like vuie68
#* added a template function to the import menu (might have been in V2.2
#* added graphics manager tab, it's use is somewhat explained by Droplets21 in this reply to vuie68; "graphics editor is basically the costumes tab in scratch, you can import svgs or pngs as graphics files, which will be added as costumes in turbowarp this means you don't have to exit the engine to add costumes"
#* Added live tab, the live tab was a planned feature called "Glue3DLive" and it was meant to allow developers to work together on projects, the only problem it ever actually had was the tools used, since cloudlink didn't work at the time the feature never ended up being realised, you know, if Droplets21 was really smart, he would've used OE3.

Summary
Droplet Utils was a Glue3D mod made by Droplets21 as a quality of life mod that quickly became larger and unstable

* 2D tile raycasting
** A 3D method to get perfectly aligned 2D tiles that look 3D and rotate around the Y-axis. Works best for maze games, and older game ports. Super fast and easy to texture, however, no moving object on the X and Z-axis
* 2D line segment raycasting
** An algorithm for rendering 2D polygons that look 3D, enabling you to render 2D and even 3D looking slopes. Really easy to texture, memory efficient, can have moving polygons on all axis
* Mode 7
Later, Matt would make YouTube videos showcasing this deobfuscated build would push GL00B to eventually release a fully open source version on February 3, 2026.

Plugin Development
Although short plugin history was the first form of "Mod" for Glue3D these plugins are plugins that dont directly modify the code of Glue3D making them originally allowed to be made and used. Some examples of plugins are Clipboard Input by YeaHea, Save and Load by Droplets21 Random Noise Texture Generator By Manham528. While simple they were much more common around the initial release of Glue3D due to them not having to deal with obfuscated code.

Modded Clients
This section will give a small overview of these clients.

Early Modded Clients
Droplets Utils
Droplets utils was the first modded client built off of the open-source build adding things such as functions, VS Code support, New gamepad blocks, UI fixes and Importing fixes.

Solvent
The oldest modded client originally being made on the deobfuscated build by Matt was initially built as its own thing but later forking droplets utils and adding a mod loader, update checker, keybinds, popup system, and optimization.

Bluu3D (Better3D)
Made by lex, adds 85 degree camera yaw support, tweaked sounds and faster load up.

Currently Supported Clients
Glue3DCE
The current updated and supported client made to easily make modifying the engine very simple and easy.

Cancelled Clients
GorillaGlue3D
Developed by Droplets21 to start over from Droplets utils adding FULL real time multiplayer support to glue3D and Mod support.
